Summary
The project is a renewable energy initiative in Morocco, focused on conducting a prefeasibility study to replace an operational coal power facility with renewable energy operations. We are developing strong relationships with key players and stakeholders in the local power landscape. If successful, we expect to prevent the emission of millions of tons of CO2 per annum and unlock billions of USD in investment. The implications of this will benefit Morocco and the broader region, as a case study of a commercially and technically viable coal power plant transition.
The Electrical Engineer will shape the design and performance of the technical solution we develop, working closely with international and local experts. A key component of the project involves developing a cost effective technical solution for generation and transmission that meets the performance requirements of the Moroccan power market. This is an excellent opportunity to build on existing expertise in the power sector and develop relationships with leading players in the coal-to-clean power space.
Roles & Responsibilities
Works with: President of CEB, Morocco Country lead, and Morocco Project Lead
Candidates required: 1
Deliverables: Conceptual technical of design and analysis of system, modeling and evaluation of technical feasibility and performance of solar PV, wind farms, energy storage, and hybrid systems, energy yield assessments, transmission line analysis, GIS-based site selection, new system sizing and scoping (pre-feasibility/feasibility level), techno-economic optimization and benchmarking, document preparation.
Later phases will include vendor and contractor coordination, meetings with EPC Contractors, OEMs and other stakeholders to discuss design options and the preparation of technical specifications.
